Adding tickets
The scanner can't read my ticket
Make sure the ticket is flat, well-lit, and the printed numbers aren't smudged. The scanner is built for the standard printed slips you get at a retailer — not photos of phone screens. If nothing works, tap the keyboard icon to enter the numbers by hand. Takes about 10 seconds.
Why are my numbers different from the printed ticket?
OCR isn't perfect — always eyeball the result against the slip before saving. Tap any digit to fix it.
Can I add tickets from older draws?
Yes. The draw-date picker goes back several years. Past results and win-checking work for any historical ticket.
Office pools
How do I run a pool?
Tap the Pools tab → + button → name the pool, add players, log what each one chips in for each draw. The app figures out everyone's cut when a ticket hits.
What if a player skips a week?
Just leave their contribution off that draw — they're automatically out of that draw's split. No awkward conversations.
How do I share with the crew?
Tap Share on any draw inside a pool. The PDF works as proof of purchase before the draw and as the payout breakdown after. Drop it in a group text or email — your players don't need the app.
Notifications
I'm not getting push notifications
Open Settings → Notifications and check that the master toggle is on. iOS also has its own permission — Settings (iOS) → LottoPal → Notifications must be enabled there too.
I get a "buy reminder" for a draw I already played
Buy reminders auto-skip when you have a ticket logged for that draw. If you scanned the ticket after the reminder was already scheduled, that one will still come through — future reminders for the same game will be skipped.
Pro and Cloud Backup
What does Pro unlock?
Unlimited tickets and pools, automatic cloud backup with one-tap restore on a new phone, no banner ads, and CSV export.
How do I cancel Pro?
Open the iOS Settings app → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → LottoPal → Cancel. We can't cancel for you — Apple handles all billing.
I lost my data. Can you restore it?
If you have Pro and Cloud Backup was on, yes — sign in on the new phone, then Settings → Cloud Backup → Restore from cloud. If you were on Free with no manual export, the data is unfortunately gone. Email us if you're not sure.
